Marine Biologist/Wildlife photographer Dr Kim Westerskov is a photographer and writer specializing in the seas and the creatures that live there, including whales, dolphins, penguins and albatrosses. He holds a Ph.D. in Marine Sciences from Otago University, and has written and photographically-illustrated 17 books about the seas, sea-life, and Antarctica. He is the only photographer ever to have won five First Prizes in the world's largest wildlife photography competition, the BBC (now Shell) "Wildlife Photographer of the Year" competition. In 2007 this competition attracted a record 32,300 entries from 78 countries.
